Team Tuesday: A Happy April Iphone Background

Rhonna has come up with so many awesome Instafonts to use for your instagrams in the Phonto app, and today I wanted to share a little iphone background I created using her Instapattern font all on my iphone.

Tutorial Time:

1) I started with my PhotoForge2 App and opened an old frame image I designed that was saved in my Camera Roll on my phone.

2) I added another blank layer and filled in with the Electric Lilac background color.

3) I saved the Electric Lilac background into my Camera Roll.

4) Next I opened the Electric Lilac background in my Phonto App and added the Instapattern Chevron white and sized it to fil.

5) Then, I added the "April" in navy using Carolyna Pro Font that I've loaded into Phonto.

6) I saved the image into my Camera Roll, then selected the image and set as Wall Paper.

And that's it! Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy! Now you can go forth and create endless Iphone Wallpapers using just your phone, some easy little apps, and the Rhonna Designs Insta Fonts!

App Happy II: More Instagram Apps & a Free Font!

In my last App Happy post, I went over my favorite apps for editing my Instagram photos. Here's an updated list to add to the Insta Fun!

Afterglow ($0.99)
Really pretty filters and fun guest filters. I use in conjunction with my PicFX app on almost every insta

Shapely (FREE)
Just found this one and I LOVE it! It's free and it comes with a lot of combinations, but if you want to get really creative, you can buy add ons, which I think is genius.

VSCO Cam ($0.99)
Another good filter app, these are more gritty and edgy. Good for landscape images & guys.

Vine (FREE)
This isn't really an Instagram app, but it IS a ton of fun. You make short little 6 second videos by touching your screen. I don't love that it captures the sound (really distracting), but still fun. To see our silly little videos my vine is @Rosemary Watson.

AND, since Phonto is proving to be my most used App, here is a fun little font I created to use in Phonto!

Just go here to download the font, or you can email it to yourself if you have an iphone and you can load it directly in Phonto!

Of course, along with my Birdsong font, you MUST grab some of Rhonna's Instafonts to use in Phonto. If you grab the bundles you get a crazy amount of designs to have fun with!

Rhonna has a ton of fab tutorials on her blog how to use her Instafonts, and she snuck in a hint to her upcoming online Insta Class! Can't wait to get the details on that.

Valentines with Rhonna Designs & Free Heart InstaFrames

So many exciting things going on over at Rhonna Designs for Valentines Day, and if you are in Utah, you are the luckiest person ever because Rhonna herself is teaching a FABULOUS Chalk Art Workshop on Thursday at Dear Lizzy. Maybe I can fly in just for the class?

Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to fly in BUT Rhonna has put TEN amazing Chalkboard Cheer art designs up on the Rhonna Designs site, and now I have to figure out how I want to display them in my house <3

New Instagram Fancies and Some Pregnancy Confessions

The sickness in the Watson house has yet to subside- we've been hit with a 24 hour flu bug and Landen, Penelope, and I have all fallen victim. I didn't get half of what I wanted to get done finished and pretty much just tried not to hurl all day.

However, I did get one thing done- posting my new Insta Frames in my Digital Shop. For just $0.99, you can get these bold and bright square frames with a little flag and some tinting to jzoojsh up your iphone photos. Aren't they swell?

There's going to be more fun designs in the Digital Shop coming up after Clementine is born, I have a ton of great ideas for the holidays coming up! I also have a blog "mini facelift" in the works. Not a full makeover, mind you, but a little change up for the upcoming season. I'll be doing some reorganizing of my brands and projects and introducing some new ones, but not until after this baby gets out of my belly.

I have found myself struggling to stay positive and cheery about this last pregnancy, it's just so hot and miserable here and I have a ton of complaints and grumpiness that I can't shake. Then of course, I feel super guilty because I also know I have a ton to be thankful for. Oh well, it's the nature of the 8 months pregnant beast I guess. Hopefully I can get out of this sick and tired funk and not go into labor all crabby and cranky like I have been. Pray for me friends.

New Rhonna Designs Kits Releasing Tonight!

Ya'll KNOW how obsessed with Instagram I've been lately, and the Master of Instagram Art herself- Rhonna Farrer is debuting some AMAZING new collections tonight to use on both your instagrams and your regular digital designing! I'm so excited I could pee. 

DYING. Now I get to have anxiety all day waiting for these to drop it like it's hot in her shop. Which one is your favorite? I think those banners will be life changing. 

App Happy: My Favorite Photo Editing Apps

Rhonna & Liz have both done awesome, super informational posts about their favorite apps to use for Instagram, so I thought I might weigh in on what I use to make my Instagrams a little more me.

Picfx ($1.99)
I usually start all my photos in Picfx, because I like a lot of their filters, and they crop your photos into a square for you. I like that you can adjust the opacity and rotate the effects too, so you don't have to have a grunge smear on someone's face if you don't want to. You can also add more effects to one photo to create customizable layers.

Phonto (Free)
So sweet to add text your photos, easy as pie. Also, they just came out with an update that lets you load your own fonts, so I am going to be BUSY loading my giant collection of font faves.

Snapster (Free)
I just downloaded this app last week so I don't have a ton of experience with it, but I do like a lot of their filters. There are even more filters you can purchase within the app if you get tired of their standards.

Stitched Lite (Free)
A collage app to put different photos all together. I don't use this one too often, but it's great to have since it's free

PhotoForge2 ($2.99)
So this one is a little pricey, but TRUST- you need it. It's does have filters and all that jazz, but I really use it for photo layering. Similar to Photoshop, you can start with a photo, then add layers to the photo to get your mobile digital scrapbooking on. I add my designs and my Rhonna Designs PNG files to my Dropbox Account on my computer, then I go to my Dropbox app on my iPhone. I save the PNG files to my Camera Roll, then in PhotoForge I upload the PNG layers, resize & adjust to my liking, then save again to my camera roll. It's a few extra steps and an extra app download, but totally worth it in my opinion.
